Hypervolt Standard Installation Terms

Installation

Our terms and conditions cover what is included free in your standard install and what happens if we need to quote for extra works.

Sometimes issues arise on the day that mean we can’t complete your install on the first visit, but if we know about these in advance, we can often resolve them beforehand.

So for the best experience, if you think there’s any reason why we might not be able to complete your install on the day, please let us know.

Important information

A standard installation usually takes around 3-4 hours.

We will need access to your property with a responsible person over 18 years old.

All of our units require a WiFi connection unless you choose a model with 3g/4g.

If you live in an area where your mobile phone signal is weak, please ensure your Wi-Fi password is ready and accessible so we can connect our units to your home Wi-Fi unlock the smart features for you.

Hypervolts standard installation

The price we have given you for installing your Hypervolt is based on what we call “A Standard Installation”. We do this because we have not seen your property or electrical set up so have priced from the scenario as in the picture above and information below

Assumptions

This is what we have assumed is in place at your property and allows for a “Standard Install” to take place. If anything is different, we will identity this when we do our online survey and advise you directly if there will be any increase to your install price:

  • Your existing electrical installation is up to the current BS 7671 standards for electrical installations and does not require any upgrading work, ie. all bonding is in place and the meter tails are suitable, etc.
  • Your electricity meter and service cutout are located next to your consumer unit with adequate working space around them.
  • Your installation has a 100A main incoming fuse.
  • Your consumer unit is a metal mainstream make (Wylex etc.) board with a spare non RCD way for which a 2 pole (Single Module) RCBO could be fitted and there is already an SPD (Surge Protection Device) fitted or.
  • Your consumer unit is a metal mainstream make (Wylex, Contactum, Hager etc.) board with a spare RCD protected way (RCD must be a Type A) and there is already an SPD (Surge Protection Device) fitted.
  • Your Wi-Fi network has a sufficiently strong enough signal to enable a good connection to the Hypervolt unit at your chosen position of fitment.

List of Works

The following is a list of the work included in a “Standard Install. Any work over and above this will be confirmed when you you have completed our online survey and we will advise you directly if there will be any increase to your install price:

  • Install in your existing consumer unit a 2 pole A type RCBO or single MCB.
  • Run the charger supply cable from your consumer unit out through a single hole and along the external brickwork at low level using up to 10m surface cleated cable.
  • Mount the charger and holster on a flat brick wall.
  • Connect up the power and data cables inside the charger and set the load limits
  • Install the CT clamp supplied over the live incoming meter tail and joint this to the data cable
  • Connect the charger to your WI-FI network and confirm app functionality
  • Help you download the app and link it to your Hypervolt account
  • Carry out all the required BS7671 Electrical Tests and complete the appropriate certification.
  • Confirm the CT clamp is sending data.
  • Register the fitted unit with Hypervolt.
